Youth Justice Institute Designed To Help Young People Stay Out Of The Legal System

When young adults don’t have the resources they need to become positive role models in society, it often leads them straight to prison. Once you’re a slave to the system, it becomes difficult to live a normal life because of the stigma that’s associated with people who have been convicted of a crime.

Reported on Daily Progress,

“The University At Albany partnered with New York state to create the Youth Justice Institute, which is designed to improve outcomes for young people in the criminal justice system.”

“The institute will provide training to organizations developing youth justice programs and serve as an information resource for best practices in the field. It will also have a research component to inform youth justice policy.”

“Gov. Andrew Cuomo says the institute will help at-risk youth have a better chance at success, and increase public safety in the process.”
