Nura Afia – Covergirl’s First Muslim Brand Ambassador & She’s Keeping Her Hijab On

Beauty-blogger 24-year-old Nura Afia makes history as Covergirl’s first Muslim brand ambassador for one of their mascaras. She will be in commercials and on billboard in Times Square for the beauty product. Afia told CNN,

“I’m so excited to be a part of CoverGirl’s new campaign. It feels so surreal. Honestly, growing up and being insecure about wearing the hijab I never thought I would see Muslim women represented on such a large scale. It means the world to me and I’m so honored to be a part of this campaign with CoverGirl.”
