Podcast host Darryl “Taxstone” Campbell is facing federal gun charges in connection with the Irving Plaza shootout that happened back in May at a T.I concert. The incident left Ronald McPhatter, Troy Ave’s body guard fatally shot, as well as Troy Ave and another victim with bullet wounds.

New evidence shows that Campbell’s DNA was on the gun that killed McPhatter and his lawyer Kenneth Montgomery confirmed that the weapon belongs to the podcast personality but didn’t speak on if his client was the shooter.

The judge initially wanted to give Campbell a chance and let him out on $500K bail but changed his mind when an eye witness came forward and said that he fired the shot that killed McPhatter. In addition, the prosecutors showed enough evidence that the podcast host poses a threat to the community.

Montgomery argued his client isn’t violent and that prosecutors misrepresented his podcast to wrongly cast him as a gang member.
