As if living in NYC isn’t expensive enough, MTA has plans on adding to the everyday living costs. If the agency votes for subway and bus ride costs to increase, New Yorkers will go from paying $2.75 to $3.00 a swipe.
If the fare hike takes place, subway and bus riders will be able to save money by purchasing metro cards that offer more deals and in return they will receive more rides. Either way, people who live and work in the city and who depend on public transpiration aren’t excited about the increase. It just means more money coming out of our pockets.
