Time is ticking! A vote will be held at 3:30 p.m. in Washington D.C. to determine health care plans.
Earlier today, House Speaker Paul D. Ryan told Trump that there’s not enough votes to pass the legislation. Reported on WP, “If the bill does not pass Friday, a day after Trump delivered an ultimatum to lawmakers, it would represent multiple failures for the new president and the Republican Congress.”
House Republicans need 216 votes to “get rid” of ObamaCare, “but were 25 to 28 short as of Thursday night,” according to NYP.
So Obamacare would stay as the Affordable Care Act but the plan is flawed. The Trump has this healthcare set up, people who depend on public assistance and elderly people will be paying higher premiums (if they even qualify for it), about 24 million Americans will be without health care, and states will now have to spend more money to aid low income families meanwhile wealthy Americans will receive billions in tax breaks.
