Some celebrities are doing their part and giving back in major ways. Snoop Dogg served 2,5000 families in Inglewood, California. During the drive-through event at the SoFi Stadium (home to the LA Chargers and Rams), Snoop handed out turkeys and all the trimmings. This has been a tradition from Snoop since 2013.
Earlier in the week, Tyler Perry did something similar in his home state, Atlanta. The billionaire actor and film studio owner, gave out 5,000 boxes of free Thanksgiving foods that included corn muffin mix, tinned green beans and side dishes, plus a $25 voucher. Some people waiting online for 16 hours just to get a box!
French Montana was joined by Jim Jones and with City Harvest, they handed out 500 turkeys in the Bronx, New York. This was nice to see two men who had a decade-long beef put their differences aside and do something positive for the community. Jim even appears on French’s latest project, Coke Boys 5.
Kodak Black arranged for turkeys to be handed out earlier this month, since he physically can’t hand them out due to being in jail. He spent $15K to send over one thousand Thanksgiving turkeys to a community center in his Florida hometown.
Entrepreneur Jai Nice put together a food drive (she made all the food herself), and BLESSED a lot of people’s lives.
The pandemic has millions of families struggling and there are resources out there if you need. If you or someone you know is in need of a box of food this holiday, reach out to Island Harvest.
