Tyson Beckford turns 50 today (still looking like he’s in his 20’s though!).
In 1993, Tyson was recruited by Ralph Lauren as their front model for the company’s Polo line of male sportswear. He bacame so popular that he was known as the world’s most succesful black male supermodel. Some reports say Tyson was the first, but that was Sterling St. Jacques (1957 — 1984).
in 1995, Tyson’s “cross-racial aesthetic of Chinese eyes, high cheekbones, full lips and brown skin” earned him to be named People magazine’s 50 Most Beautiful People In The World. Later in his career he went on to act in various movies like Addicted, Chocolate City, Into The Blue, Biker Boys and more. Recently, he’s been hosting reality shows like Make Me A Supermodel, and Britain And Ireland’s Next Top Model.
He’s been keeping a low profile on social media, popping up on his Instagram stories, but he hasn’t posted since August. In the same month, he interviewed with a news publication the by the name of Dothan Eagle and spoke on the Election and Kanye West.
