Donald Trump will officially be out of the White House on January 20, at noon.
Since his final days in office is approaching, there’s one thing he wants to do before he goes.
As reported on CNN, Trump will reportedly issue 100 pardons. The article confirms people close to the situation say Trump won’t try to pardon himself but will give clemency to white collar criminals and high-profile rappers. AJC reports Trump is considering giving a pardon to Lil Wayne and Kodak Black.
A meeting was held on Sunday (Jan. 17) to finalize the list of pardons.
The January 6 riots that led to Trump’s second impeachment have complicated his desire to pardon himself, his kids, and personal lawyer Rudy Giuliani. At this point, aides do not think he will do so, but caution only Trump knows what he will do with his last bit of presidential power before he is officially out of office at noon on January 20.
Forbes reports Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) believes if Trump pardons the rioters, it “would be wrong.”
“I don’t care if you went there and spread flowers on the floor. You breached the security of the Capitol, you interrupted a joint session of Congress, [and] you tried to intimidate us all.” Graham continued,
“You should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.”
