Jersey Shore’s Mike The Situation Shows Off 5 Year Sobriety Plaque, ‘Made Me Feel Like I Won A Gold Medal’

Mike the Situation has a lot to celebrate!

Five years sober is a huge achievement. He once had an opioid/alcohol addiction but those days are over! It stemmed from the “party culture” on the reality show he was on, MTV’s Jersey Shore. At first, no one knew and it wasn’t something he boasted about. He kept his image as the “buff guy who’s a ladies man.”

Five years later, Mike is pressing on and helping others. He wrote a lengthy message about his sobriety on Instagram. He said,

“BDS has been through some situations in life, addiction being one of them. I have grown a lot as an individual, overcome a lot of obstacles, and one of my proudest moments so far has been celebrating 5 years of continuous sobriety this past December. Receiving my 5 year medallion made me feel like I won a gold medal, and it is a badge I am honored to wear!

I share my journey of addiction, because it is so important to break the stigma of addiction. People are suffering out there because they are afraid to speak out about needing help. If I can help just one person find their voice, I know it was all worth it!

If you or someone you know are struggling with addiction or mental health issues, don’t be afraid to ask for help. If I can do this I know you can too! Call my treatment specialists at 888-270-5712 today to start the journey of the rest of your life.”

Mike and his wife, Lauren, are expecting their first child together, a baby boy, in May 2021.
