Seeing the Trump Plaza crumble to pieces actually sounds a little therapeutic.
Construction workers demolished the building at around 9 a.m. today (Feb.17). You can see the building explode into little pieces as smoke filled the air, leaving a gap in the skyline.
People watched from nearby hotel rooms, in one video you can hear people cheering.

Trump Plaza closed its doors in 2014 after three decades in business. It survived a 1992 bankruptcy before Donald Trump cut ties with the city in 2009. The building has been falling into pieces in recent years and has long been set for demolition.
Opened in 1984, pieces of the plaza had been breaking off as the building once owned by former President Donald Trump remained out of commission.
