Meek Mill Wants To Have A Ride Out For DMX + Vigil Set For April 24

Hip hop is mourning the loss of the legend DMX.

He passed away on April 9 after spending a week in the ICU after reportedly suffering a drug overdose/heart attack. His brain went without oxygen for 30 minutes and was in a vegetative state.

DMX’s Ruff Ryder crew, fans, and family have been paying homage to X. Meek Mill Tweeted he wants to have a huge ride out for the “Party Up” rapper. Meek Tweeted,

“Tomar we doing this shit for X …… NYC WHATS UP …. the whole east coast let’s get it!!!!! Real ruff Ryder [sh*t] “ride or die” I’m backing my “supreme bike” out !”

While X was fighting for his life last week, Ruff Ryders hosted a ride out in front of White Plains hospital, where DMX was at. Billboard reports his vigil will be held on April 24 at the Barclays. It’s not clear how many people will be allowed to attend due to COVID-19, but the arena can hold 19,000 people. The article reports the service won’t be open to the public and the Barclays is maxed at 10% capacity.

DMX touched the Barclays stage in 2017 as part of a Ruff Ryders reunion show and in 2019 at the Masters of Ceremony concert. DMX was only 50 years old. He left behind 15 children and a fiancée, Desire Lindstorm.
